McClure, Senior Pastor, Pleasant Street Baptist Church, Westerly, Rhode Island, our mission is to equip Pastors, Church leaders, Christian Education directors, and Teachers with dynamic, Bible based, Spirit inspired, Christian Education resource materials to transform and grow people into a deeper life changing relationship with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God.

Long ago Solomon wrote: “A wise teacher’s words spur students to action and emphasize important truths. The collected sayings of the wise are like guidance from a shepherd.” Ecclesiastes 12:11

These reflective words still ring true today. To spur students to action, to emphasize important truths from God’s word, to nourish the mind and heart while learning of a deeper life lived in God’s presence is still God’s goal and purpose for every believer.

Pastor Joshua A. McClure’s Bible Based Church School Studies and Foundations of Faith Bible Study are for you. These studies are designed for a two year continuous period of learning the Bible, accompanied with a Teaching Guide and Workbook. The center and core of this dynamic learning system is the book: “ALMOST PERSUADED, Now to believe.” Published in 2008, and written in plain, simple language for spiritual understanding, the book explains clearly and unreserved 13 basic tenets of the Christian faith.

The integration of these basic truths along with the Church School Studies curriculum has proven to be life changing. The lessons presuppose that in the beginning, i.e. in eternity past when time was not God purposed in his mind to establish a people like himself, in his image and likeness, who would be able to freely choose to live in relationship with him, in His kingdom under his reign and rule. To insure that fellowship with God would never end, Christ would die for his creations if they chose wrongly. Genesis is the record of the initiation of God’s prearranged plan of redemption for mankind forged in eternity.

“Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.” [Ephesians 1:4, 5]

Rounded Rectangle: BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING Over the years we have engaged our brightest minds, our most highly educated individuals to tell us what God had in mind for his created beings, however, to this day a large gap still exists between what God has promised and what we are actually experiencing. Most likely because of our failure to heed God’s declaration: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets…..And God has actually given us his Spirit [not the world’s spirit] so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.” [1Corinthians 2:9, 10, 12] This may explain why so many believers express a desire to grow closer to the Lord but are often overwhelmed by their lack of progress. At the outset many are convinced all that is needed is a little adjustment in attitude and lifestyle and everything will be okay. However, continued disappointment results because it is not our physical self that is in need, but the inner person that needs transformation into the image and likeness of God. As a result there
